FBI had prepared War Crimes files

"These were not random acts," The New York Times editorialized. "It is clear from the inspector general's report that this was organized behavior by both civilian and military interrogators following the specific orders of top officials. The report shows what happens when an American president, his secretary of defense, his Justice Department and other top officials corrupt American law to rationalize and authorize the abuse, humiliation and torture of prisoners."

We fool ourselves if we think we have an independent media. Freedom of speech is being gagged to a mumble.

al-Manar TV.

Would you feel less xenophobic if you found out that 9/11 was not orchestrated by Middle Eastern men? Just a question.

Pentagon: Unprecedented Power

Iran Paranoia

"Alas, such a heavy-handed 'sticks' and 'carrots' policy may work with donkeys but not with serious countries." - Former US national security adviser Zbigniew Brzezinski

Carter states the obvious, that Israel has 150 Nukes. That's hardly news.

We have armed Israel to the teeth. Not sure how competent they are with the equipment since they have never been in a evenly matched war. Based on their performance trying to sink the USS Liberty, they appear to be very incompetent.

WTC #7 - The afternoon 9/11 demolition. We cannot forget.

Also, please don't forget flight 93 in PA that hit the ground and disappeared into nothing but tiny scraps (strewn over 4 miles..... in case you aren't aware, that is not normal. Planes shot from the sky get strewn about, but not planes falling to the ground)

Grand Ayatollah Ali al-Sistani (of Iraq) is now sending the message it is advisable to resist the occupation. Not a good sign.

We are moving toward China vs China moving towards us.

Publish Post

Prescott Bush (W's grandfather) makes Bush's speech to the Knesset awkward.

Read Doug Bandow's excellent comparison of US military vs China's (and our grotesque waste of spending)

Doug Bandow is the Robert A. Taft Fellow at the American Conservative Defense Alliance. A former special assistant to President Ronald Reagan, he is the author of Foreign Follies: America’s New Global Empire (Xulon Press).

Our history with the Korean Massacres of the 50's

It is striking how similar this picture looks to our current pics of Afghani fighters with their US "advisors"

The logic of John McCain (and his NeoCon handlers)

CHICAGO (AP) - Republican John McCain accused Democrat Barack Obama of inexperience and reckless judgment for saying Iran does not pose the same serious threat to the United States as the Soviet Union did in its day.

"Such a statement betrays the depth of Senator Obama's inexperience and reckless judgment. These are very serious deficiencies for an American president to possess," McCain said in an appearance at the restaurant industry's annual meeting.

US & Israel have unlimited nuclear strike capability vs Iran's complete absence of nuclear material PLUS no method for delivery. Now does that really compare to the USSR's multiple hundreds of missiles being moved around by land, rail, sea and space? These guys are absolutely obsessed with goading us into another Middle East land grab.

Taking Liberties

A sad commentary on our rapidly degenerating Orwellian age.

Bill Moyers piece on our fading democracy

Paul Craig Roberts - Another brilliant piece

Paul Craig Roberts a former Assistant Secretary of the US Treasury and former associate editor of the Wall Street Journal, has been reporting shocking cases of prosecutorial abuse for two decades. A new edition of his book, The Tyranny of Good Intentions, co-authored with Lawrence Stratton, a documented account of how Americans lost the protection of law, is forthcoming from Random House in March, 2008.

Myanmar's Senior General: Than Shwe - The face of pure evil

Shwe w/ his minions

If there ever was a case for invading a country this is it. We could bomb them with bread and water and leaflets and we could sit back and watch these junta idiots shrivel from the rage of their people.

Pat Buchanan wrote a very coherent piece about who the NeoCons are and what they are doing to the Republican Party (and Nation)
